There are a lot of every day conveniences that I can live without. Cable? Not a big deal if it goes out every once in awhile. Internet? Yes, it is annoying to not be online, but, not a deal breaker for a day or two. However, there is one thing that I really cannot stand to be without – Air Conditioning. Of course, it figures that this past Sunday, the hottest day of the year thus far, ours pooped out.
That is why this scene made me so ecstatic that it nearly brought a tear to my eye earlier today:
When the technician said the magic words of, “oh yes, this is an easy fix, I have the part in my truck,” I almost gave him a hug.
In the first 6 months that we have owned this house, the following things have broken:
- Hot Water Heater (before we even moved in)
- Dishwasher (also before we moved in, but it was not fixed for a good month after we took residence)
- Thermostat
- Air Conditioning
This all makes me very thankful that we negotiated a home warranty into our contract! Even with all of the aforementioned issues, I have never been happier to be out of the condo! When the A/C went out at the condo, I was stuck in a second floor unit that felt like an oven. The house was really not all that bad at night – as long as we did not use the oven and turned all the fans on.
