A Sweet Victory

I would be lying if I said that I remained calm, cool and collected throughout the basketball game last night.  Around the 10 minute mark I started pacing around the house during commercial breaks.  With 3 minutes left I hovered over the coffee table screaming “Put the ball in the damn basket and get a stop!” In the final minute I was curled up on the floor in the fetal position barely able to watch.

And then, it was over.  Somehow Duke managed to eek out a victory in a game that was decided on the last play of the game.  I have watched the replays of the last second shot that Butler took and each time I expect it to go in.  I was emotionally spent after that game – I can’t even imagine how the players felt.  But, what a game it was.

If it had been any other team facing Butler, I would have been pulling hard for them.  I watch ALOT of college basketball and I don’t think that there has been a better NCAA championship game in at least the past 10 years.  Go Duke!
