Half Day

by Megan on March 12, 2010

In honor of the ACC basketball tournament (and Duke’s noon tipoff time), I decided that today would be a fantastic day to take a half day.  Good thing my dad boss wanted to watch the game too – there was pretty much no way he could justify coming over to my house to watch it on the big screen unless he let me leave early too!  When I was younger my dad would come and check me out of school early on ACC Tournament Friday’s.  Unless I was just super sick, I went to school ALL the time, but that was the one exception to the rule.

Even though I was happy with the final outcome of the game today – it was some ugly basketball.  Oh well – it is that time of the year, survive and advance.

(I didn’t take a picture during the Duke game because I tend to get a bit aggressive animated and therefore I am not allowed to have expensive electronic equipment within throwing distance of the tv)

During the break between games my dad went and looked around in our garage.  He discovered that our water softner was not plugged in and had no salt in it.  So that is what that big blue thing in our garage is!  We have been trying to figure that out ever since we moved in.  What can I say?  We are clueless homeowners.  At any rate, we ran out to the store to buy 3 huge bags of salt for the softner and it is still not full.  I guess that will be added to our errand list for the weekend.

Since Gracie was at Dogs at Play for the day and the basketball was wrapped up until 7pm, I decided to head out for a short run.  I do not like running.  But, my goal is to become one of those people who gets up and thinks, “Wow, I really would like to go for a run today!”  My reasoning is that the more and more I try and do it, the less it will suck (eventually).  I will probably never work up to crazy distances – but it would be nice to head out for a 3 or 4 mile run and not think that my death is imminent (and perhaps even enjoy it).

The rest of my evening will now be spent watching the evening games of the tournament.  Have I mentioned yet that I LOVE March?!
