.) The Duke/Miami game that I attended last Saturday was, perhaps, the most intense sporting event that I have ever witnessed in person. At one point, between the anxiety of the close game, the heat in Cameron and lack of sleep, I stood up quickly to cheer and nearly passed out. That would have been incredibly embarrassing, so, it is a good thing that I rallied and made it to the buzzer without incident.
.) Since we were gone all day Saturday for the game, we boarded both dogs. I slept until the glorious hour of 10AM on Sunday morning. The last time I woke up that late was probably sometime in high school or college. Clearly waking up around 5AM since mid-December caught up with me.
.) For the entire month of February, I dealt with a serious case of the blahs. The weather was cold, gross and rainy. A surefire way to put a smile on your face during an otherwise dreary day? A super awesome sock monkey umbrella! Danny’s sister (and her family) gave me this for Christmas and I totally forgot it was in the backseat of my car until we had a huge rainstorm last week. Instant mood pick up!
.) I do not like travelling for work. I enjoy seeing/meeting customers, but, the car rides with my dad tend to be a bit much and usually I wind up with a splitting migraine. Sometimes, however, a conversation with my father will provide me with funny anecdote.
.) Plane tickets from Wilmington to Anguilla (technically St. Maarten-but who cares about that place) are currently about $750. I know this because I looked it up yesterday at work (it was 30some degrees outside with 30mph wind gusts). My brain knows that a trip back to the Caribbean is not possible (or responsible) right now – I am really going to need Spring to hurry up and arrive before I do something silly.
