When I woke up on Sunday morning, my main goal was putting on my bathing suit as quickly as possible and getting down to the beach. Basically, all I wanted to do was spend the entire day being lazy and basking in the warm Anguillan air and crystal clear water.
And that is exactly what we did. After parking ourselves in chairs we spent most of the day lounging around and enjoying our first full day of vacation. It was glorious.
The water color in Anguilla just blows my mind. Up until last year, I really never believed that the ocean was capable of being so turquoise and perfect. I kept getting distracted from my book due to the fact that I couldn’t stop staring at the water.
Eventually a storm rolled in from St. Maarten. It happened at the perfect time because we had massages scheduled at the spa for late in the afternoon anyhow (rough life).
Let me take a minute to wax poetic about spa treatments. If someone would have told mid-twenties me that I would become a “spa person” it would have been deemed absurd. However, I have seen the light – if dropping some cash every once in a blue moon and letting someone do work on my tight muscles helps me relax, so be it.
At any rate, after our massages we headed down to the beach bar for our afternoon margaritas. The view from there did not suck.
And with that, another day in paradise came to an end.
