Because the heat has melted my brain, here is what I have been up to for most of June 2012 (besides working, not much of anything).
In early June, Danny lost his mind decided to buy a truck. While I still do not really understand why he needed to make this purchase, I have come to terms with the fact that he is normally a pretty rational guy. If this is the worst thing I ever have to deal with, I guess it is alright.
My Grandma and Aunt decided to make the drive down to visit for a weekend. Normally I wouldn’t post a picture of someone on the internet without their permission – but, I am 99.999% sure that my grandmother has no idea what a blog is (or the internet for that matter).
Ok, so, sometimes I try and bribe Gracie in order to be her favorite parent. But, as you can see…
…she works long, hard hours in the office and deserves an extra treat (popcorn makes her lose her mind).
Mid-month I had to travel out of town for work. This involved spending a lot of time in the car with my dad (who LOVES classic country music). God bless the person who invented noise cancelling head phones.
After a early Saturday morning workout, I decided to reward myself by hitting up our neighborhood pool. This was the first (and only) time that my feet have hit the water all summer. This needs to change – productivity on the weekends is kind of overrated. I need to spend more time near the beach/pool.
For some reason, I kind of love this photo. Watermelon has become my post workout treat of choice. I bought this one on Friday evening and have almost polished off the entire thing by myself over the weekend.
Grilling and chilling has been happening this summer. Right after this picture was taken we ran out of propane and had to make an emergency run to the store for a new tank. Total rookie mistake.
When it is this hot outside, the only thing to do is grab a book and lay directly under the A/C vent all day long.
And now my sights are set on the 4th of July. Here’s to hoping the weather cools down a bit before everyone starts setting off fireworks in my neighborhood!
