For the past few weeks, I have been walking around in a pretty foul mood. Along with my bum ankle, I came down with a nasty cough last week and was just generally not loving life.
On Monday, after a particularly challenging night spent coughing up a storm, I decided to pay a visit to the doctor.
The doctor diagnosed me with bronchitis and sent me home with a prescription for high powered cough syrup.

She should have just told me that this stuff was liquid gold. After one night of taking this stuff my cough was gone and I was primed for a good night’s sleep. It is amazing how much better a solid 9 hours of uninterrupted shut eye will make you feel (especially after spending most of the previous weekend not sleeping at all).
My ankle is still not really any better. I thought that things were moving along – but, after a trip to the gym last night, it swollen again and generally hurts. On the upside, I have been able to get out and walk Gracie this week. Getting some fresh air and a little exercise (albeit it not very strenuous) has done wonders for my mood.
But mostly, I am still totally amped up about this:
The Duke/UNC game last night was one for the ages. When Austin River’s shot went in to win the game, I was so full of adrenaline that I could have done cartwheels across my house, bad ankle and all.
And that, my friends, is why I love college basketball. Go Duke!

I notice our cough syrup bottles look exactly the same!
Nice! I hope that it had the same magic healing powers for you as it did for me.
