I made (what I hope) is my final visit to David’s Bridal yesterday.
Don’t get me wrong, my consultant at David’s Bridal has been absolutely nothing but awesome each and every time that i’ve paid a visit to this store. At first, I don’t think that she quite knew what to do with me. I am sure that everyone who has met me will be shocked to know that the entire “dress buying” thing just wasn’t really my cup of tea at all. I have never been the girl who has dreamed of her wedding. In fact, the idea of going to buy my dress kind of made my stomach turn. I kept putting it off and putting if off…and finally I had to break down and go find something. I wound up buying the first dress I tried on – but, not without trying on at least a dozen other dresses to appease my mother. The consultant actually pulled my mom aside at one point and said something to the effect of, “she really isn’t into this at all, huh?” I guess her first clue was probably the fact that my first statement upon walking into the store was, “This really isn’t my idea of a good time at all.”
At any rate, I had my final dress fitting yesterday and was able to pick up my dress and bring it home. While I was at David’s, I tried my dress on with my special occassion Rainbow flip flops that I bought just especially for the wedding. My mom nearly had a heart attack when I told her how much they cost – but hey, looking good costs money!
Danny and I are having a nice, quiet evening tonight. It will probably be the last weekend for awhile that we aren’t busy as the next few months are already filling up really quickly. Gracie wanted to go on a car ride this evening, so, we headed up the street to get her a puppy cone from Bruster’s.
We both splurged on shakes, but, I could only finish about 1/4 of mine and wound up throwing the rest away. Once the wedding is behind me, I am going to start training pretty hard again. I need to get into shape for our soiree in November and then our (belated) Antigua honeymoon after that.
And now it is time to head to the sofa and watch a movie.
