Hopping back on the Bandwagon

by Megan on March 10, 2010

I managed to spend some quality time with the treadmill over my lunch today.  It seems like kind of a waste, because the weather finally warmed up here and it is much more conducive to exercising outside – but, I like having my evenings free to walk with Danny and Gracie, so, I try and fit in lunchtime workouts when possible.

At any rate, I think that the treadmill at work is calibrated way different from that at the gym.  I programmed in my goal time per mile and off I went.  Only it seemed like I was going 3x’s faster than when I run outside OR on the treadmill at the gym.  Wild.  I wound up spending about 20 minutes running before I hopped off so that I could take Gracie on a quick half mile walk around the block.  Later this evening we took another walk that was the equivalent of roughly .75 miles – so, I did alright in terms of getting some exercise today.

My goal this week is 5 days of activity to supplement the daily walks with Gracie.  Since I have a standing date with my trainer on Tues/Thurs, it is really just a matter of fitting in 3 extra days of exercise.  I am right on target so far – and, I figure maybe I will get really ambitious and shoot for 6 days this week.  Even though I kind of hate hitting the gym, I push myself much harder there and I do like the feeling I have after a good workout is finished.

In other news, the card reader on my home computer seems to be broken – which explains the lack of pictures.  I have an external card reader that I use with my D300, but, I have been to lazy/cheap to go buy one that works with the cards from my point and shoot cameras.

And now I am going to go lay in bed and watch something on the DVR.
