For reasons that I do not really want to get into on a public blog, this has been one of the most emotionally taxing weekends of my life. Friday evening I was so exhausted that I really didn’t know which end was up.
Saturday was a little bit better. I spent most of the afternoon laying around watching Season 5 of The Office (I have just recently gotten into this show and am getting caught up via Netflix). Danny requested begged to go to K38 for dinner on Saturday evening and I felt inclined to give in and let him go get his beloved steak quesadilla and chips and salsa. Around 9pm I poured myself a drink and settled in to watch the Duke/UNC massacre game. Oh, what a wonderful game that turned out to be – never in my wildest dreams did I envision a blowout of those proportions. I told Danny after the game that it might have been one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. 🙂
The weather seems to have finally turned a corner (although I hate to jinx it) and we headed over to the park today to take Gracie on a walk. It seems that 2.6 miles (twice around the park) is the magic number to wear out the little monkey. She was like a little angel the rest of the afternoon. I decided to be really ambitious and tried to go out for a short run after getting back from the park. I just didn’t really have much left in the tank though – I think I made it maybe 3/4’s of a mile before finally deciding to just cut my losses and walk home. I can usually get myself through a run once I get started (about .25 miles into it) but not today – not sure if it was the walk earlier or all of the other drama, but, it just wasn’t happening.
And now I am trying to get psyched up for another week at work. I really need to get some stuff in the office done before our busy seasons kicks off – but, this is ACC tournament week, so, who knows how productive I will actually be once Thursday rolls around?
