My plans for this weekend involve having absolutely no agenda whatsoever. This is awesome and I have been looking forward to it all week. We spent the first few weekends of the month travelling – and then I was on the road again this week for work. Even though the weekend trips were for fun, travelling like that gets to me after a few weeks in a row. So, yes, the plan for this weekend is to lay low and chill out at home. Awesome.
The weather here is awesome as well. I had planned to go for a run around the neighborhood once I got home from work yesterday. Gracie had other plans for me though – when I emerged from the closet carrying my running shoes, she had jumped on the bed and was laying on ALL of my workout clothes and my Garmin and was looking up at me all forlornly. I really wish I had grabbed a picture of it – it was pitiful. So, I abandoned my plans for a run and instead grabbed the monkey and we took a nice long walk instead.
Once Danny got home we ran over to his parents house to pick up a package and then over to Pita Delite to get some carryout food. Once home – Danny spent all evening working on getting his new “dork computer” installed to the TV. He took a break only because he *really* wanted to go to Port City Java for dessert.
While I was hanging out in the office enjoying my mocha shake, I heard some noise coming out of the living room. Then the familiar music of, “I’m on a Boat” started leaking from the other room.
A side note about, “I’m on a Boat” – ever since we first saw this video at Nate and Julie’s house last year, we have both been obsessed with it. We even had the DJ at our party make sure he had it on the playlist. When I am having a bad day at work, I go and pull this up and watch it – totally makes me feel better! Best SNL digital short ever!
Gracie has seen this video countless times – and she was NOT impressed with seeing it on the new tv/computer set up.
I spent some time working on a new “running” playlist on the iPod…
My plans for today include trying to squeeze that run in sometime this afternoon. After a few weeks of travelling and putting off running outside because of the cold, I am really trying to make an effort to get back on track.
But, now Gracie is barking at a cartoon dog on the tv, so, I am going to go amuse myself with watching that!
