Because I live in southeastern NC, we are blessed with two seasons – hot and cold. Sometimes we get cold and rainy – and if we are really super lucky, we get cold, rainy and windy. This big storm that is blowing through NC is bringing snow to a lot of the state – but here at the beach we are getting all nasty rain and wind. This does not make for ideal moving conditions and hopefully it will clear up before the movers come in the early morning. The movers did call to confirm today and said that they will be here “rain or shine” – I really hope that they bring some tarps with them because otherwise all of our furniture is going to be soaking wet!
On the upside, Danny did look at the forecast this morning and decide that maybe it would be a good idea to go into work a little bit late so that we could get the majority of our electronics into the house before the storm hit. Desktop computers and monitors went first and then we moved one of our tvs. Later in the morning my dad met me at the condo at we got the big screen TV and other random electronics. I finally made one last run by myself and got all of my dresser drawers, Gracie’s essentials and the stuff from our freezer. So, even if we can’t get TOTALLY out of the condo tomorrow – we should have enough stuff to keep us plenty entertained/clothed/fed until the weather clears up.
Our friends Matt and Lisa came over to the new house tonight (in the horrid weather – thanks guys!) and helped us Danny get our desks all put together. Afterwards he took a look at our dishwasher and noticed that we have a leak. We have not even moved into the house yet and we are on our second home warranty claim. I am so, so glad that we got that negotiated into our contract. Honestly, I never thought it would be a big deal to have it – but it has already proven to be a great thing!
The condo is a disaster and sadly all of my camera cables are packed up, so, I don’t have any pictures to upload document how spectacularly torn apart this place is. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel a little more settled and less stressed out. But, for now it is back to assembling boxes and getting this place packed!
