Greetings from transitional chaos. Danny and I had a really full day of productivity planned. Our plans included:
- Taking Gracie to get her Christmas portrait
- Buying/Assembling desks for our new office
- Cleaning the house and getting it into liveable shape
- Packing
Our plans took a major detour around 9:30 AM when we headed over to the house to drop off the new desks we bought at Staples. Upon opening the garage door we were greeted with the awesome site of our hot water heater spilling water all over our garage. So, instead of spending the morning hours doing the above tasks – we did this instead:
There are several things that I am thankful for – and the biggest one is that our hot water heater is located in the garage instead of actually inside the house. Had this happened inside, all of our new flooring would have been ruined and we most likely would not be able to move forward with our scheduled move in (next Saturday). While dealing with this was a major time suck and inconvenience – it is something that we can deal with fairly easily (I hope).
We spent most of the afternoon trying desperately to make some headway on the house. I am starting to get majorly stressed out – we have not packed a single box and the place is still really dirty from all of the workers that have been in and out over the last week and a half. I actually was on my hands and knees scrubbing the bathrooms this evening trying to get all of the grit and dried paint off of the counters. Danny is having a battle with the desks that we bought…
… and currently the score is: Desks 1 – Danny 0. He is calling in some friends tomorrow to see if they can help expedite the process.
While I was taking a break this afternoon – Gracie and I had a little photoshoot:
I am pretty sure that I annoy the crap out of my dog.
We are going to try for a re-do tomorrow on the holiday portraits. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day!

I like how in the shopvac pic, Don is just hanging out in the background watching Danny suck up the water, hehe.
