…and I am SO ready for this vacation that it is not even funny. I have been counting down the days since our August 28th wedding and have been dreaming of our tropical vacation for even longer.
Upon completing our online flight check-in this morning I noticed that Danny’s ticket was marked “First Class.” After a moment of mild annoyance that he got upgraded and I did not – I happened to look at my ticket as well. Score! We were both upgraded to First Class and I have no idea how it happened – but, I am not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Unfortunately, our newly upgraded seats are not side by side – but that’s alright. Maybe a comfy first class seat will not be as bad on my hip (which is still hurting) and I will be able to sleep some. We have to be at the airport by 6AM which means that we have to be up and functioning by probably 5AM.
I have been dreaming of an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation for the past 2 years. In 2008 we decided to opt out of a trip to the tropics so that we could head to Vegas for our friends wedding. This year, except for our long weekend in Chicago, we have been stockpiling vacation days so that we would have a full week to spend sipping fruity beverages on the beach. When Danny proposed, I knew that I wanted to get married pretty quickly because of the whole house thing, but, also because I figured we could use all of our vacation time to honeymoon. Woo Hoo! I chose Antigua because some of our friends went there on their honeymoon and loved it – plus, i’m hoping that it is far enough south that the water will still be warm.
Another reason that i’m in a super great mood – Duke’s basketball season tipped off tonight! Once we get back, we will be knee deep in the preseason NIT tournament and college basketball (Duke!) makes me a happy, happy girl.
Off to get some sleep – tomorrow morning is going to come VERY early!
