We kept things pretty low key on our last day in Australia. While out on our soggy bike tour on Saturday, we caught a glimpse of the Royal Botanical Gardens. Normally, gardens would not be anything to hold my interest, but these are different. Since the weather has turned nice (just in time for us to leave), we headed over there today for some fresh air and to take in the sights.
The gardens are filled with tons of vivid green grass and these huge trees that almost remind me of something out of a fairy tale. However, the noisiest residents of the gardens are probably the fruit bats.
As a side note, I told Danny that the bats sort of reminded me of him when he is whining to go to K38.
After working up an appetite walking all over the gardens, we headed to a restaurant called Pancakes on the Rocks. I proceeded to order a pancake lunch/dinner the size of my head.
After spending a bit more time walking around the harbor, we headed back to our hotel in an attempt to gather all of our belongings and get ourselves psyched up for the LONG flight home tomorrow.
We have had a good time here, but, I am more than ready to get back home. Two weeks is a long time to be gone and I am so excited about picking up Gracie on Thursday that I can hardly stand it.
